About Low Vision Solutions
Nancy Simmons and her husband, Sal Falsette, are co-owners of Low Vision Solutions, a business that provides product and equipment for the blind and visually impaired. Nancy started in this business twenty years ago working out of her home in Redford. In 1997, she opened a store in Livonia where customers could come to browse and have hands on experience with all of the blindness aides and magnifying devices.
Sal and Nancy now travel throughout the entire state of Michigan to see customers in their homes and work places. They are manufacturer representatives for several major companies that make video magnifiers, a device that will enable the severely visually impaired to read and write again.
Kristin Smith has been working at Low Vision Solutions since July, 1999. Most of her days at the store are spent taking care of customers and answering phones entirely by herself. When they are not on the road, Nancy and Sal help out, but Kristina is well acquainted with all of the equipment and knows the price of every magnifier and daily living aide in the store.
Low Vision Solutions is also connected with The Magnification Place, a similar store, located in Marquette, Michigan. Nancy and Sal helped to establish this store in 2002. It is now owned and operated exclusively by Claudine Murvich who has lived in Marquette her entire life. It is the only store of its kind in the upper peninsula. |
